I have a question about these gifts with purchases or purchases with purchases. Let's say I buy a nice Lancome gift for my mom, maybe some good face creme or perfume but I want the gift for myself ( there are a few that I love!but will only get 1). Then I give the perfume to my mom & she wants to exchange it. o I also have to return the gift? I will have already used it and opened everything by the time she gets her Christmas gifts. What is your advice?

That is a great question. I would contact the store you plan to purchase from and ask about their return and or exchange policy.

From my experience, because I've done exactly what you did (I wanted the gift) my mom was able to exchange her perfume for another one no problem or get a gift card. Her choice. Just no cash refund. Everyone's happy
