Another good tip I think it's worth mentioning about Estée Lauder in particular is that sometimes you can even buy products that are not necessarily the ones required to buy (in this case, skin care or foundation) and still get your GWP.
A couple of weeks ago when I was in NY, I was able to buy a $21.50 Purchase With Purchase set (this time it wasn't a GWP) that required customers a purchase of an X amount of dollars (can't quite remember the number) on fragrances. I'm allergic to most so not a fan. The first saleswoman to talk to me didn't offer any other ways so I went out that day in empty hands. But came back the other day and talked to another person and this time, she said she could sell me what I wanted (which was compact powders) and I was able to get the PWP I wanted.
Of course this won't work if you're purchasing on-line and it will definitely depend on your interaction with the person who's assisting you but I thought and think it's worth giving a shot.

You're good at negotiation. I rarely use makeup. So if I get a free gift, I give makeup stuff to my daughter and my friends. This summer's gwp offered by estee lauder counters is less enticing, because you don't get extra stuff for free if you purchase more than $55.00. The gwp offered by esteelauder.com is much better if you purchase a pricy item that you really want.
